Over the years, my experiences have not only afforded me numerous opportunities to network and meet like-minded people, but to diversify my skill set, better equipping me to relate to various individuals in need of empowerment, encouragement and a reassuring voice. As a Multi-Award Winning Author, Public Speaker, Radio and Television Personality, Junior Board Member for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, United Survivors Advisory Board Member, Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Region 3 Advisory Board Member, National Alliance on Mental Illness Certified Instructor, NAACP Member, Baltimore Mental Health Alliance Member, and a member of Duluth Business Association and National Council of Negro Women, all has cultivated a colorful network and experience base, all aiding me in my advocacy for mental health and suicide prevention.

June, 2018 marked the commencement of our National Self-Discovery: Pain, Positioning & Purpose Mental Health Conference Tour. In 2019, our Mental Health International Tour started in May in my hometown of Gary, Indiana. Garnering tremendous support, the tour offers educational material and resources to families and individuals faced with the negatives associated with mental illness, bullying, and suicide. The initiative proves to be a success and reflects not only its potential, but the urgent need for mental health events, and we endeavor to meet that need. Continuing to devote our time, energy, skills and resources, we will work assiduously to ensure our families, friends, colleagues, and loved ones are educated and empowered in the face of mental illness, bullying and suicide.

Kimberly Sellars-Bates is a native Atlantan and a product of both the Atlanta Public and Fulton County school systems. She attended Alabama State University (ASU) and received a B.S. in Psychology.

She works tirelessly in her community and is a dedicated and active member in several community organizations including: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (TEO Chapter); Order of the Eastern Star (Peace Chapter #146); 100 Black Women (NW Georgia Chapter); and The Metro Atlanta Alabama State Alumni Association.

Kimberly is passionate about mental health and is very excited to be named Director of Development for SD-PPP. She is responsible for grants for the organization.

Fatima Ahsan Executive Manager

Fatima is the Executive Manager of SD PPP Inc. She manages and overlooks all the administrative functions of the organization. She also maintains social media and the design department of the incorporation. Moved by the mission of our organization, our energy, our team and the work we do, Fatima is excellent in arranging executive meetings, and screen all executive correspondence. She offers a unique skill set that makes her a very valuable part of the organization. She maintains her virtual office from Lahore, Pakistan.

Aaron Ballantyne manages the sponsorship arm of Self-Discovery: Pain, Positioning and Purpose, Inc. Overseeing the sponsorship process, Aaron identifies eligible sponsors, researches organizations with similar interests, creates content integrated with our fundraising goals and develops strategies to coordinate the approach of potential sponsors and establishing strong relationships with them. Moved by the mission of our organization, our energy, our team and the work we do, Aaron earnestly offers himself in an effort to make a difference with his experience, his writing skills and capabilities. He has not only been an invaluable asset to the sponsorship aspect of Self-Discovery: Pain, Positioning and Purpose Team, but has brought a vibrant, insightful energy to our environment and workspace (all the way from Kingston, Jamaica).
